…::: Temporary Defeat :::…

Napoleon Hill once said that one of the most common causes of failure is the habit of quitting when one is overtaken by temporary defeat. But what it failure. Dictionary.com describes failure as the lack of success; the neglect or omission of expected or required action; the action or state of not functioning. But why do we automatically feel a sense of failure when something does not go as expected. Why is it we immediately grade ourselves with this F, when there are many opportunities for us to change this F into an A. What is this A that can help us to overcome temporary defeat.

A is Abundance. Abundance a very large quantity of something. plentifulness of the good things; prosperity. We need to operate with an abundance mindset knowing very well that we have access to all the resources that is necessary for us to succeed.

A is Attitude. Attitude is a settled way of thinking or feeling about something.  It is a position of the body indicating a particular mental state. Once we adopt a Positive mental attitude, regardless of the temporary shortfall or defeat we know that we are just gathering information because sometimes we win and sometimes we learn.

A is Action. Action is the fact or process of doing something, typically to achieve an aim. Lets make that aim, to constantly perform the action necessary that will help us to success. If something does not work right now, let us think of alternatives and act on it to verify the result. Thomas Edison once said that “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work” Lets take a clue from this great inventor and accept the fact that temporary defeat is just another way that wont work. We must never give up. We must continue to strive. We will succeed.
