Let me first start by saying that I am not talking about your appearance, through if I was I would be flooded with comments from all you attractive people, including myself lol. No, I am talking about are you currently attracting the things in your life that you want. My last post said that we can have anything we want but how many of you actually believe that is possible?
As some of you may know I started following a daily routine which consists initially of prayer and personal development, followed by a few hours of trading, then either hit the gym or run for at least a mile and finally spend time connecting with people. So this morning I was reading a quote from napoleon hill that was shared over the past weekend at Bob Proctor’s Paradigm Shift and it goes as follows:
“Poverty and riches often change places. Poverty may, and generally does, voluntarily take the place of riches. When riches take the place of poverty, the change is usually brought about through well-conceived and carefully executed PLANS. Poverty needs no plan. It needs no one to aid it, because it is bold and ruthless. Riches are shy and timid. They have to be “attracted.” – Napoleon Hill
This is a very strong and powerful quote and felt the urge to share with everyone because there are two powerful messages in this one paragraph.
On Being Attractive:
Remember that book that I stumbled upon in Barnes and Noble? Well, while waiting in line for my flight from LA to Panama (and I was in that line for a LONG time but that is another story) I read something similar to what Napoleon Hill said. Darren Hardy goes to say that:

“Success is not something you pursue. What you pursue will elude you; it can be like trying to chase butterflies. Success is something you attract by the person you become.“
You can apply this to any thing your life but it makes complete sense. We already do it for job applications because employers will only hire persons who is a perfect fit for the job. So in order to get the job most of us study the qualities needed for the job and we find a way to develop these skills so we look more “attractive” to the employer. Its the same thing if you are seeking wealth and riches. “Dont focus on the INCOME. Focus on who you must BECOME and the INCOME will COME.”
On Poverty:
Napoleon Hill breaks it down perfectly in that extract; however while sitting down here in Starbucks MovieTowne Port of Spain sipping on an iced chai tea latte, the idea hit me. ICE. Yes, ICE.
Ice is the perfect way to describe this concept of Poverty and Riches. Based on the quote Riches can be easily converted to Poverty; however the only way you can move from poverty to Riches is through carefully planned effort.
Now think about ice and how it is made. As I watch my cup and realize that there had to be a particular process that was followed to get the ice shaped in cubes; HOWEVER when you remove ice from that environment it easily melts into a puddle. If you take the puddle just as it is and place it in the freezer it doesn’t change back into cubes. There is a process that is followed to get the water back into the shape of cubes. So next time you are not happy with your current situation, it probably just means that you need to change what you are going now and follow the required steps to get to where you want to be. How do you know what steps to take? Mentors! But that is a conversation for another time. For now remember that “when riches take the place of poverty, the change is usually brought about through well-conceived and carefully executed PLANS.”
